My daughter is an addict. A Frosty the Snowman addict.
Every day, without fail, she asks to watch her Frosty the Snowman video (which is actually MY Frosty the Snowman video, but there's really no point in arguing my case). Unlike me, who thought (and still thinks) that Frosty is an incredibly sad story (hello---Professor Hinkel MURDERS the snowman by melting him on purpose), Lea seems to love it. Which is good - I'm glad that she focuses on the message of magic and reincarnation rather than on the tragic part where Frosty and Karen are stalked across the icy wildnerness by an evil magician, and then Frosty is cut down in the prime of his life due to someone else's greed.
I guess that's the beauty of storytelling...we all take away different things.
